The Narrow Way

In our family devotions last week, my dad talked to my brothers and I about focusing on the right things. He explained to us that we need to stay focused and find God’s purpose for our lives. We need to shut out all distractions and filter everything that we see and hear by using a biblical worldview.

To simply explain what he meant, he allowed me to walk on our closed ironing board (which represented the narrow way of a Christian) while my brothers distracted me by yelling and hollering. My dad even began to make the ironing board shake so that I really had to focus on what I was doing. I had a really hard time shutting out all of the noise and I began to fall off of the board.

My dad explained afterwards that being a Christian and wanting to do the right thing isn’t always easy. There will be different pressures, temptations, trials, and tests that we need to overcome and we need to shut out the noise of everything else that is unholy.

In the end, if we can stay on the narrow path, we will reach our heavenly destination and spend eternity with Jesus.
