Lately, my dad has been growing bonsai trees from seed. (In case you don’t know, bonsai trees are really small versions of trees. Usually, bonsai trees are grown inside homes.) This requires a lot of patience because growing bonsai trees from seeds take about 6 years to grow. Having patience is not something easily acquired.
The Bible says “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (ESV) The Bible says that having patience is a fruit of the spirit. This means that being patient is something that God wants us to do to be more into his image.
Patience doesn’t always mean waiting for something. Sometimes, it also means not getting annoyed by someone. Or, simply not getting frustrated with someone or something. I myself am not a very patient person and get easily frustrated sometimes, but being more patient is something I’m working on. I’d love to know what being patient means to you.
