Dear Reader,
Last week Wednesday the topic of our family devotions was humility. My dad referred to Moses as being humble, because Moses was offered the throne of Egypt. (which was the world power during that time.) But Moses turned it down. The scripture says, “Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. ” (King James Bible)
Moses turned down basically the throne to rule the world, while humbling himself enough to live with his people which were enslaved. The Bible says that Moses esteemed the reproach of Jesus greater riches than the treasures of Egypt. I think that is such a wonderful lesson in humility, because Moses turned down the throne to the world, to serve Jesus. Isn’t that such a great lesson? Let me know what you think in the comment box below.
